Teachers’ information
What is our goal?
- To reach young people in South Africa with the Word of God
- To enrich young lives by helping build character through challenge and learning
- To teach 21st-century skills such as creativity, innovation, collaboration, and communication
- To give young people a strong foundation for a rapidly changing world
- To help young people become aware of environmental issues and their surroundings
How will we reach these goals?
- Through youth-centred camps where teaching, listening, and growth are encouraged
- By creating a safe environment away from everyday school and home pressures
- Through varied team-building and adventure activities that develop leadership, resilience, and ingenuity
- By fostering a love for creation through education and time outdoors
- By creating opportunities to serve the community and support upliftment projects

Groups and leadership
Learners work in groups throughout the programme. Points are awarded in the form of beads for challenges won during the day and for good character. The group with the most beads at the end of camp receives a prize.
Leaders are not automatically appointed unless requested. Leadership opportunities are built into team-building activities so learners can demonstrate leadership skills and natural ability. If you want learners divided into teams beforehand, you must let the camp know; otherwise, they are grouped randomly on arrival. Teachers are given a chance to review teams before they are finalised.
