  • The final balance is payable on arrival day

Cancellations

  • The booking deposit is non-refundable
  • If a camp is cancelled less than 3 months before arrival, the group is charged the minimum payment per night for the number of nights booked
  • If a camp is cancelled within 30 days of arrival, the full camp fee is charged as per the invoice sent before camp
  • Non-arrival campers are charged the full camp fee

Times

  • Camp access begins from 3pm on arrival day
  • A camp leader must arrive before 5pm to receive keys and briefing
  • Late arrival after 5pm may result in an added fee
  • Departure on a Sunday must be by 2pm
  • If departure is on any other day of the week, departure must be by 11am, unless other arrangements have been made with management
  • Staying later than allowed may result in an additional per-person day fee

Catering

  • Cleaning the kitchen is the responsibility of the group
  • The kitchen must be kept clean during camp and left clean on departure
  • Groups must bring their own detergents, broom, mops, cloths, and related cleaning items

Ablution block

    • The ablution block must be kept neat and tidy
    • Wet floors can become slippery, so care is required
    • Groups must provide their own detergents, broom, mops, and cloths
    • Toilet paper is provided

Refuse

  • Full bin bags must be placed in the refuse area above the top ablution block
  • The door should be kept closed so animals do not get into the rubbish

Grounds rules

  • Anyone found breaking camp rules may be fined
  • Breakages that happen during camp will be charged
  • Only one person may use the trampoline at a time
  • Swimming in dams is not allowed unless a qualified lifeguard is on duty and flotation devices are in place
  • This is a working farm, so campers must stay away from machinery and give way to farm vehicles
  • Campers must pay attention to signage, especially where crops are sprayed and chemicals may be dangerous
  • Cutting cane or other plants is not allowed
  • Harassing animals is not allowed
  • If using the firepit or braai area, campers must take the necessary safety precautions
  • No pets, firearms, fireworks, motorbikes, quads, smoking, alcohol, or unreasonably loud music
  • Quiet time is after 10pm

Servicing the camp

  • The camp is handed over in a clean, ready-to-use state
  • During camp, a staff member remains on duty but only empties bins around camp and cleans ablutions in the morning
  • Kitchen bins and general cleanliness remain the campers’ responsibility
  • A staff member will meet the group on arrival and again on departure to check that the camp is left in a satisfactory condition

Fire

  • Fire extinguishers are available
  • In the event of a fire, campers should be moved quickly to the volleyball court and camp management and the fire department must be alerted

Load shedding

  • A generator is available for use during load shedding
  • It only powers lights and is normally switched on from late afternoon until 9pm
  • If the generator is needed after 9pm, an hourly charge applies
  • Bringing torches is recommended
